Our services

We support children towards independence, reflective thinking, building self-esteem, soothing separation anxiety and respecting themselves, others and the environment. We support families towards creating positive rhythms for families, establishing boundaries, alleviating power struggles, stress reduction and positive parenting.

We support adults in reflecting on, and creating physical and psychological environments and communities that support all people, especially those that are lgbtqia+.

We help support adults of children who are questioning their gender identity and their sexuality.

blossoming beyond the binary helps administrators, educators, families and create a culture of inclusion in their communities and shows them how to incorporate diversity, courage, and transformation into their daily practice. We work with schools, teacher education programs, universities, individual educators, and families, helping to create and sustain lgbtqia+ gender diversity curriculums and environments. Our in-depth trainings are tailored to the needs of the individual or institution and will help everyone not only understand the importance of the LGBTQA+ gender diversity and give simple, practical ways to incorporate it. Our goal is to help you create an inclusive and welcoming culture and to work with you to implement an lgbtqia+ mindset in your environment.

 How we work with you

Our approach is that of partner and collaborator with the goal of developing your environment in the most positive ways. We do this by taking the time to first observe your space. After observing your space, we meet once with all staff members and then alone with various departments and alone with administration. From here we work to come up with a plan to revitalize your environment or your curriculum so that it is lgbtqia+ inclusive.

Part of our work with institutes is to help create gender diverse lgbtqia+ environments and mindsets in which lgbtqia+ children and adults feel respected and acknowledged. We reflect on everything from books used in the classroom, to forms and environmental design. We help all constituents reflect on curriculum, family education, pronoun use as well as collaborating with queer families. We help administration work on making the interview and application process more lgbtia+ positive, we will help you create forms for adults that are more inclusive of all lgbtqia+ people.

We offer day-long retreats (or longer as needed) with your staff. Our retreats focus on revisiting our commitment to all lgbtqia+ people. Together, we reflect on mission statements as well as the messages that we wish to send our communities. We talk through building an inclusive, nurturing environment for all lgbtqia+ people, no matter what their age. We work through various scenarios that might come up in our institutions and help you problem-solve so that all children, families, and educators feel respected and supported.
